A good friend needs to be a person that one can look up to.
Such traits as trustworthiness, kindness, dependability, and loyalty are what makes up a good friend.
However, not everyone you meet in life can make a good friend.
There are also bad friends, most of whom would surround you and pretend to be good yet what they do is for their personal gain.
A bad friend will always take advantage of your kindness.
They will only want you to do things that they feel are fun, however, you will not see them whenever you need them.
The definition of a friend, and friendship, is based upon one's own notions.
Many people look for different characteristics in friends, things that may be common in nature.
For example, if you win a lottery, a bad friend will make sure you have spent the money to the last dime without giving you advice on how to invest.
They will only be there in good times but run away from you when you need them.
