This program is open to students in the Honors Program for semester-long study abroad experiences in the fall or spring semesters.
Preference will be given to students who choose distinctive and highly challenging academic programs and to students with demonstrated financial need.
Selected students must understand that there may be additional time spent in preparation for their specific experience.
To qualify as a Connelly-Delouvrier International Scholar, a student must be a Villanova University Fitzpatrick College of Nursing undergraduate or graduate student with a GPA of at least 3.0 (undergraduate students) or 3.5 (graduate students).
If you have attended other undergraduate institutions (full time or summer study), include transcripts from these schools. Your recommendations should address your academic potential and your ability to flourish in and contribute to a different cultural environment.
Your recommenders should be professors; they may send their letters separately to [email protected] Fitzpatrick College of Nursing at the undergraduate and graduate levels and provides partial funding for their nursing course-related experience.It offers unique cultural perspectives to students interested in expanding their knowledge and experience.The program supports international studies opportunities for undergraduate students while building momentum for Villanova’s efforts to globalize its curriculum and build lasting relationships with host institutions.This program is a chance for undergraduate students to enhance their arc of development; therefore, a student’s chosen program of study should build upon previous experiences and contribute to future plans and goals.In recent years, Connelly-Delouvrier International Scholars have had great success competing for nationally competitive scholarships, such as the Fulbright; therefore, preference will also be given to students whose program would naturally lead to this path.The Connelly-Delouvrier International Scholars Program is a result of the generosity of the Connelly Foundation and honors the memory of Judith Connelly-Delouvrier who died in the 1996 TWA Flight 800 tragedy. Judith Connelly-Delouvrier was born Judith Celeste Connelly in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, and attended Melrose Academy in Elkins Park.Please see below regarding full Application Requirements.Please write a 1000 word essay that integrates your responses to the following questions: a.Once a study opportunity has been identified, the student must complete the standard application for that desired program as well as the Connelly-Delouvrier application if he or she seeks partial funding for the experience.Selected students are called Connelly-Delouvrier International Scholars.
